Anuṣhṭhān

en. An anuṣhṭhān is the reading or recitation of a maṅtra, a sūkta from the Vedās or certain texts (graṅtha) for a specific number of iterations over a specific period of time. This anuṣhṭhān is preceded by a saṅkalp, which is a spiritual resolution to perform this particular service within the parameters of the anuṣhṭhān. The spiritual resolution is made by the sādhak per the guidelines given in various shāstrā, or spiritual sciences.
